In our ongoing efforts to maximize our security on campus, we will be starting phase 1 of our campus security upgrades which will consist of a traffic pattern change starting Thursday, December 6th. The entrance gate on Opa-Locka Blvd will remain the same, but instead of turning left into the furthest parking lot as you come in, you will continue straight. The diagram below will display the change. PLEASE NOTE: You will only exit the Opa-Locka gate between the hours of 8:30am-2:30pm when the 135th St. exit gate is closed.
During rush hour (7:00am-8:30am in the morning and 2:30pm-3:30pm in the afternoon) the entrance and exit gates will remain the same (entrance on Opa-Locka Blvd. and exit on 135th St).
The diagram above which shows the entrance and exit flow will apply to the hours of 8:30am-2:30pm which are the non-rush hour times. There will be a new security tent as you enter campus; please pay attention to the traffic signs as you come in so that you are entering on the proper side. If it is between the hours of 8:30am-2:30pm, please also pay attention to the traffic signs when you are exiting campus so that you are exiting on the proper side. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office at your earliest convenience.
A follow-up news article and corresponding email will be sent out regarding phase 2 of the security upgrades. Phase 2 will consist of vehicle tags that will need to be in each vehicle that comes on campus during the non-rush hour times of 8:30am-2:30pm. More information to follow...
